1 day – Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Description

This detailed and comprehensive practical course provides individuals with the tools to be an effective first aider in the work place. In accordance Resus Council guidelines 2015, we also include teaching the practical use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) .Those employed in the health and social care sector this course achieves The Care Certificate Standard 12 Basic Life Support


Course Outline
To equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to be an effective first aid
• State the role of the first aider
• Describe available first aid equipment
• Assess first aid situations and circumstances in an emergency
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use an AED as per instructions
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is having a heart attack,
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is having a stroke,
• Administer first aid to a casualty who has burn or scold
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is has a head injury – Concussion, compression or skull fracture
• Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
• Provide assistance to someone who has fainted
• Identify the need for recording incidents and actions

Everyone who attends also receives a First Aid Made Easy book and a AoFAQ certificate valid for 3 years
